AFTER thumping Mozambique 5-0 in an friendly in KaNyama- Zane on Sunday, Banyana Banyana hope their appetite for goals remains as strong when they meet Zimbabwe in Daveyton on Saturday.

Saturday's clash is also a friendly and will take place at Sinaba Stadium at 3pm.

Banyana coach Joseph "Skheshekheshe" Mkhonza is thrilled that his charges are becoming less goal-shy.

"Scoring more than two goals in a single game has been a challenge for us and it is still a work in progress. We need to make it a habit, having a feast of goals when we play," he said.

"We will see how it goes against Zimbabwe on Saturday. They are stronger than Mozambique but we will give it our best shot. We have to be consistent in winning our games by an avalanche of goals from now on."

The scorers against Mozambique were Slindile Ngubane (two), Nocawe Skidi and Amanda Dlamini. The other one was an own goal by Celia Tuate in an attempt to clear the ball.

"We played as a team but I will single out Amanda, who was in a class of her own. She created the other three goals besides netting one herself.

"We are using these two friendlies to create a bigger pool of players as we start with our preparations for the Cosafa Women's Cup finals scheduled for Namibia in December," said Mkhonza.

After the Cosafa Women's Cup, Banyana will contest the 2014 African Women's Championship, where the finals will also be played in Namibia.

The top three teams in this continental soccer spectacle will represent Africa at the 2015 Fifa Women's World Cup finals in Canada.

l Star Banyana striker Andisiwe Mgcoyi has realised her childhood dream of furthering her soccer career in Europe.

The Mamelodi Sundowns player has signed a two-year contract with FC Union Nové Zámky in Slovakia after impressing their technical staff.
