Charges against MSG Afrika chairperson Given Mkhari have been dropped, according to a statement released on Power 987.co.za
Broadcaster eNCA had earlier stated that Mkhari had been arrested on charges of assault and that the arrest happened on Sunday July 15.
Police spokesperson Kay Makhubela without revealing his identity, had earlier confirmed that a “husband and wife” had opened cases of assault against each other.
“I can confirm that the couple who opened cases against each other, were arrested yesterday and they are going to appear before court today at Randburg.” He said.
Power FM released a statement detailing that Given Mkhari will no longer be appearing in court today. Read the full statement below:
MSG Afrika chairperson Given Mkhari will not be appearing in court on Monday.
He and his wife have withdrawn assault charges against each other.
It follows an “unfortunate incident” at their home on Saturday night.
Mkhari said he had gone to press charges at the Randburg Police Station, followed by his spouse.
The family have since taken the decision to resolve the matter at home.
