SuperSport United coach Eric Tinkler blasted TP Mazembe for their disrespectful behaviour after winning the CAF Confederation Cup title at the weekend.

Matsatsantsa-a-Pitori fell short of winning the R18-million title after Mazembe won 2-1 on aggregate in the final over two legs.

Mazembe fans invaded the pitch after the match, with some of their officials apparently mocking SuperSport after the loss.

SuperSport will still receive R9-million as losing finalists.

The match ended in a goalless draw at the Lucas Moripe Stadium on Saturday.

Tinkler lashed out at the visiting team, saying: "When we are expected to show respect and humility when we go out the country, people [the Congolese] need to show the same humility and respect when they come here."

The former Cape Town City mentor said his team did not pose enough danger to Mazembe over the two legs.

"It's about creating the opportunities to score . We had a couple of chances and did not put the ball behind the net. But I felt that in the final third we did not create those opportunities to get that goal," he said.

After travelling eight African countries and playing 18 games in the tournament, the Tshwane club will focus on the Absa Premiership game against Ajax Cape Town at Mbombela Stadium on Wednesday (7.30pm).

"For that game we will be making some changes . we have brought some new faces into the squad," Tinkler said.
