Kaizer Chiefs have now played four straight draws in the league after their 1-1 draw against Free State Stars at the weekend, which could prove costly in their race for the title.

Chiefs were in fact in danger of losing the match after going 1-0 down to Daniel Cardoso's own goal just after the hour mark, but Bernard Parker earned them a point when he pulled one back minutes later.

It was Chiefs' first goal in their last four league outings, which means they have dropped eight points and though the leaders are not winning either, Chiefs are not doing themselves any favours.

"We just have to keep digging and fighting, try to go for three points [in the next match]," said Chiefs coach Steve Komphela, whose side will play Chippa United away in their next match on December 6.

Komphela acknowledged that they will have to be better in front of goal given that they have scored just one goal in their last four league matches.

He engaged the media extensively on the goal-scoring issue.

He said the country should face reality about this problem and look for solutions.

Komphela said coaches that have given their opinions on the issue recently should be taken seriously. Orlando Pirates coach Micho Sredojevic said that he had been to 138 countries and this is the first time he's seen such poor finishing.

Komphela reacted: "He [Sredojevic] said he's never seen such a poor return in goals in South Africa ... I'm not trying to bring South Africa's problems into Kaizer Chiefs, but it goes back to exactly what you are saying. Now as coaches how do we solve the problem? You can never get tired when you are working on something."
