FUN WALK TO BOOST CANCER AWARENESS

THE Avon Justine iThemba crusade of hope is once again calling on all women and their families to take part in this year's fun walk to raise funds for cancer.

THE Avon Justine iThemba crusade of hope is once again calling on all women and their families to take part in this year's fun walk to raise funds for cancer.

Avon corporate affairs manager Vicky Saunders said the aim of the walk was to help raise funds for breast cancer education and awareness done by Bosom Buddies, a breast cancer support group.

Since 2001 The Avon Justine iThemba crusade has raised more than R6million, which has funded several projects that include two Cancer Association of South Africa mobile units, breast cancer awareness nurses conferences and the sponsorship of 14 radiographers to attend the mammography course at the University of Johannesburg.

The walk will begin at the Johannesburg Zoo on Sunday October 18 and hundreds of breast cancer survivors, including actress Lillian Dube, pictured, will take part.

The next fun walk will be held in Cape Town on October 25.
