THE KwaZulu-Natal department of health has appointed Sibongile Zungu as new head of the department.
Zungu replaces Busi Nyembezi, who was suspended and who subsequently resigned.
Nyembezi had been accused of fraud and corruption relating to tenders amounting to about R5million. The tenders were allegedly awarded to companies associated with her.
Zungu, who started working at the beginning of this month, was officially introduced yesterday. - Sne Masuku
