Despite his determination to fight for his place, Mamelodi Sundowns' forgotten midfielder Mogakolodi Ngele has hinted that he would have to consider his future if opportunities prove scarce at the Brazilians.

"What is more important is to play," said Ngele, who featured in Sundowns reserve team's 3-0 loss to SuperSport United in the MultiChoice Diski Challenge in Durban at the weekend.

"If you are not playing, there is no use to stay put.

"You must find a team where you can play. I need to find a way to get on to the field [for the first team again]."

Ngele returned to Sundowns at the start of this campaign but a knee injury and not having work permit kept him on the sidelines.

The Botswana international has since recovered from the injury and is now among a long list of Sundowns' naturalised SA citizens after getting his residency papers a few weeks ago.

"I am very happy that I have finally received my work permit. It was difficult to sit without playing. I am now working on gaining my fitness back,'' said Ngele, who refused to comment on rumours that Orlando Pirates were after his signature.

The 27-year-old winger has no problem with fighting for his berth in the Sundowns first team, which boasts quality players in his position such as Percy Tau.

"There is always competition everywhere and I like it. I will work hard to get into the first team because I want to contribute to the success of the team this season,'' said the former Platinum Stars talisman.

Ngele had a successful loan stint at Bidvest Wits last season where he helped the Clever Boys to the Absa Premiership and the MTN8 titles.
