South African teenager Luther Singh has confirmed interest in his services from Real Madrid B.

But the teenager says his dream is to play for Real's fierce Spanish rivals Barcelona!

The 18-year-old‚ who has been a revelation since joining Swedish second-tier GAIS last year‚ says Real have contacted his agent about a move to their B side‚ Real Madrid Castilla‚ even though his present team denied all knowledge.

“They have not spoken to me personally‚ but they did talk with my agent‚” Singh told fotbollskanalen.se.

“It’s a big club‚ but I just want to focus on the present. I belong to GAIS and I just want to focus on playing here and helping the team. I’m not thinking about anything else.”

The Real Madrid B side‚ which plays in the third tier of Spanish football‚ wanted Singh to join immediately but his contract with GAIS runs until the end of this year.

Whether they will come back with a fresh approach at the end of the year remains to be seen as the Spanish have large scout networks all over the world and could have moved on to other targets.

“If the move can happen‚ of course I would be happy‚” Singh said.

Singh had said in an interview before the season started he dreamed of playing for Barcelona one day and despite the interest from Real‚ he says that has not changed.

“Sometimes you dream about one thing‚ but as God opens up other doors for you. And what doors God opens‚ you must take them. You do not get many chances. This is an open door for me and hopefully it goes well. My dream is still to play for Barcelona‚ but then this opportunity came."

Singh was developed through Farouk Khan’s Stars of Africa Academy that also launched the careers of Tokelo Rantie and May Mahlangu in Sweden.

He looked set to join Portuguese giants Benfica at the start of this season but the move broke down when the club wanted him to play for their academy side.

Singh and his agent felt he was ready for senior football.

He has seven goals in 15 starts in Sweden this season having been converted from a winger to a central striker at the start of the campaign.
