Benni McCarthy in tests, Gaxa is back in the team but Morgan Gould is out with injury

Benni McCarthy is expected undergo a late medical assessment ahead of tonight's match. The striker missed yesterday's training session because of a minor calf strain, Pirates has announced.

From the Kaizer Chiefs' side, the club has announced that Morgan Gould injured his Achilles tendon during training and will not be playing tonight.

However, Siboniso Gaxa has been given the green light to play.

Meanwhile, Chippa United has parted ways with coach Manqoba Mngqithi, after just two games played. This is according to ‏@OfficialPSL.

Off the pitch, the National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa in the North-West has called on the Premier Soccer League to observe a minute's silence before the start of tonight's matches to mourn the 34 mineworkers killed in Marikana.

"Football in our country and in the rest of the African continent is renowned for being a comforter, healer, reconciliator and pillar of strength for our people during sombre and most difficult moments. In moments like these, tonight's matches can serve as a unifying tool," said Jerry Morulane, Numsa Regional Secretary.

"Furthermore, we call on the PSL to donate the gate-takings of tonight's League matches to the families of the victims for purposes of dignified burials this coming weekend."
