SOWETO residents will celebrate Women's Day 2011 with the Zodwa Khoza Memorial Cup at Nike Football Training Centre in Pimville tomorrow.

The tournament, which will feature four top women's clubs, is organised by the Soweto Football Association in honour of Khoza for her contribution in football development. SFA chairperson Phil Mogodi identified the participating teams as Croesus Ladies, Wits Ladies, Logos Ladies and Fabulous Ladies.

"Zodwa will always be remembered as one of the pioneers of women's soccer in South Africa. It was after the arrival of Zodwa in soccer as brand manager of Orlando Pirates that many women started developing interest in the beautiful game, either as players or administrators," Mogodi said.

"We have decided to organise this tournament to celebrate Women's Day. We do not have a sponsorship but we have decided to go ahead with it.

"The winners will get R6000, a floating trophy, 20 gold medals and a full playing kit. The runners-up will get R3000, 20 silver medals and a full playing kit.

"There is no affiliation fee and the participating clubs are requested to pay the referees R150 per game."
