Couple jailed for forcing teen mom into prostitution

AND IT GETS WORSE: Husband made her pregnant - then beat her baby to death

A couple accused of forcing a teenage mother into prostitution and beating her infant son to death have been sentenced in Brooklyn federal court.

Domingo Salazar received 30 years in jail, while his wife, Norma Mendez, received 68 months.

The sentences stemmed from their guilty pleas last year to federal charges of sex trafficking of a minor.

Salazar and Mendez still face murder charges in state Supreme Court in Brooklyn stemming from the infant's death.

According to court documents, Salazar met the victim, a 17-year-old girl, in Mexico and began a relationship that led to her pregnancy.

Prosecutors claim he convinced her to move to the United States, where he and Mendez forced her to become a prostitute almost immediately upon her arrival, systematically abusing her for more than two years.

When the young woman gave birth, the couple abused the infant and eventually beat him to death, according to court filings.

The couple refused to call for medical help and instead buried the body in concrete, according to the indictment.

The New York Post reports that two couple - both convicted sex traffickers - had entombed the deceased infant in concrete and kept it for 11 months in the house with their own small children.
