CONFESSION BOX: I have fallen in love with a woman at work

I AM a man aged 40. I have been married for 12 years but not so happily. We have two children.

I have been working with a woman a bit younger than I am for a year. She is also married. We get on so well and I have fallen in love with her.

Everything is right about her. She is beautiful, funny and sophisticated. We sometimes meet after work for a drink and I have told her that I am in love with her.

She said that she cares for me deeply but only as a friend. I feel embarrassed but I think that if I give it time she will fall in love with me.

I am devastated and I don't know what to do.

In Love, Midrand

This relationship has no chance of succeeding and in fact could ruin your life.

It is so dangerous to get involved with people who you work with - especially people who are already with someone - and can result in one or both of you losing your jobs.

Both of you are married and it would seem that she is simply flirting with you.

If you pursue this you could end up hurting a lot of people including your wife and children.

Put your energy into trying to fix what is wrong with your marriage.

This might not be what you want to hear but you need to think sensibly about this situation before you make mistakes that cannot be fixed.
