ROME - Inter Milan see former Liverpool manager Rafael Benitez as the right man to replace Jose Mourinho, Italy media reported on Sunday quoting Inter president Massimo Moratti.

Moratti told Italian newspaper Corriere dello Sport that he believes the Spaniard is the ideal candidate to coach the newly crowned Champions League winners.

"Benitez is the right name," Moratti said. "We will meet him in the next few days, so we will see.

"I can only speak highly of him, because he is very talented." Moratti said. Benitez had a good record against Mourinho, which was "a sign he does his research well and above all does not get the big games wrong". He added: "It is also important that he has already made his mark in Europe. We want to achieve more in this area." - Sapa-DPA
