Fight fans will have a feast of boxing this weekend.

Action begins at Wembley Arena tomorrow night where African Ring Magazine of promoter Jeff Ellis will present a seven-bout programme.

This KMG-sponsored bill features fighters mostly from the south of Johannesburg - hence it is dubbed the "southern impact".

Twinkling stars like Jared Lovett, Hekkie Budler, Victor Temlett, Jason Bedeman, Joey Stiglingh and Kyle Bothma should end the year in style. Former SA and All Africa middleweight champion Anthony van Niekerk will take on Emmanuel Duma in a catchweight bout.

Lovett will fight Ronnie Lategan in the catchweight category while Budler will clash with Johnny Oliphant in the junior flyweight class.

Temlett will fight Khayeni Hlungwana in another catchweight fight, while in the lightweight division Bedeman faces Sifiso Mthethwa. Stiglingh squares up to Thomas Mamaila and Bothma will exchange blows with Thomas Mamaila. All the bouts will be over four rounds.

Admission is R100 and R70. Action starts at 7pm.

Then on Sunday, Future Boxing Promotions will stage an eight-bout tournament at Finetown multipurpose centre near Lenasia, south of Johannesburg.

It's a development tournament therefore no big-name fighters are featured in the four-rounders.

Two women's international fights are on the bill. Locals Esthel Mshiye and Lilian Molala will fight Zimbabweans Emily Kubwalo and Joan Muzari, respectively. Admission is free and action starts at 1.30pm
