Rapper Jub Jub is leading a list of top entertainers in Kimberley this Saturday to give the Diamond City the shine that it deserves.

The entertainment starved, but mineral-rich city will come alive as Jub Jub and a carefully chosen group of Club DJs take turns to send the crowds to the dance floor.

Jub Jub, who is as well-known for his television work as he is for rapping socially-conscious lyrics in Setswana, is sure to cause a sensation when he and his team take to the stage at Kimberley's Rivito Lapa.

The rapper is expected to perform hit songs from his previous albums as well as from his new release, My Shine. He will perform alongside Euphonik, Franky SA, Mavusana & Zino 142, Hypnosis, Malankane, Small T and Kanunu.

Kgomotso Modiragale, organiser of the Kimberley gig, said: "All I can say is that Jub Jub is good. The artist's latest offering takes me back to when he was a cute, young boy appearing in many shows on TV.

"While he was growing up, he tried his hand at music, but it didn't show much promise. For a while back then, he was nowhere to be seen or heard.

"But then, things took a turn for the better. As soon as his album, The Rare Breed, was released, he became a celebrity again.

"Now, with the help of Bonzo Music, Jub Jub has made a comeback with his third hard-hitting offering, My Shine.

"This boy never gives up. He is a real pusher.

"Taking a look at last year's release, I must say that even though it had a few killer songs such as Good Time of Your Life and of course the gospel hit Ndikhokhele. I was not convinced that he would make such an impact. But with his latest release, I am certain that this boy is talented."

Tickets are available at Computicket and at Shoprite/Checkers branches nationwide.
