Gospel singer out of hospital
Vuyo Mokoena has been discharged from hospital and is recuperating at home.
The dynamite gospel singer, pictured, was admitted to the Linksfield Clinic in Johannesburg two weeks ago.
Mokoena was upbeat yesterday, saying he was eager to pick up the pieces of his life again.
"For a while it was touch and go but I thank God I have recovered. The doctors were fantastic, doing all the tests they could to determine what was wrong with me.
"And thank God it's not cancer but something minor," Mokoena said, adding that he was really caught off guard.
"I would urge everyone to regularly go for check-ups. Until you suffer the same fate I have, you never appreciate that effective treatment is dependent on early detection and treatment."
A bubbly Mokoena, supported by his wife Lerato and friend Sipho Makhabane, said he could not wait to get into the studio. "I can almost feel the song about this experience engulfing me."
