O’ska lahla this December: Practice safe sex

It’s all fun and games till someone gets an STI, don’t let it be you.

We all want to have fun and loosen up during the holidays but that doesn’t mean that caution must be thrown out the window.

Safe sex must always remain a priority not matter how ‘disease free’ the person you are hooking up with looks.

Unplanned and unwanted pregnancies also pop up a lot around this time of year so dual protection is a good idea for the ladies.

“We always advise planning contraception before a night out and using a barrier method such as condoms to protect against STIs, Dr Tom Brett, medical director at DrThom told Femalefirst.co.uk.

Here are some safe sex tips for the festive season:

1. Single people: Carry condoms with you when you go out. You never know when you might get lucky.

2. Be sober: Try to avoid hooking up while drunk. That way you’ll be able to make wise decisions and take necessary precautions.

3. Don’t cheat: Staying faithful to your partner is the best thing you can do. Why mess up a good thing for a few minutes of fun?

Lastly be a darling and remember to keep playing safe throughout the year.
