Cricket SA announce new commercial deal with Castle Lager

The South African Breweries (SAB) has extended its relationship with Cricket South Africa and the Proteas.

SAB‚ through Castle Lager‚ had a long standing relationship as Test and ODI team sponsor until its contract was not renewed when it ran out at the end of May.

Standard Bank then took over in May as the official sponsor of the Proteas for the next four years across all three formats of the game‚ enjoying the exclusive rights associated with the National Team.

But CSA’s partnership with Castle Lager continues‚ albeit in a new dimension.

The new commercial deal with the beer maker will see Castle Lager as the “Official Beer of the Proteas”.

The new five-year deal will run until the conclusion of the 2021 season.

“SAB and Castle Lager are true sporting partners and we are very grateful for their support of cricket over more than two decades‚” CSA chief executive Haroon Lorgat said in a statement on Wednesday.

Castle Lager general manager said: “As the ‘Official Beer of the Proteas’‚ Castle Lager will be able to further entrench our relationship with South African sports development‚ the players themselves and the fans behind the boys.” - TMG Digital
