Eleazar Rodgers cannot wait to terrorise the Kaizer Chiefs defence again, almost seven weeks after his two goals were the reason for the gloomy Amakhosi faces at Cape Town Stadium.

Rodgers, who admits that he loves playing against Chiefs, bagged a second-half brace as Platinum Stars came from a goal down to upset Amakhosi in January.

He has since warned the visitors that it's going to be even harder when they clash at the Royal Bafokeng Stadium tonight (7.30pm).

"I think every season I score against them. As a player you want to prove that you can be where they are. We have good players and the occasion just brings the best out of us," said Rodgers, who has five Absa Premiership goals this season.

"We beat them 2-1 and they obviously want to beat us now. [But] we won't make it easy for them. We have to exploit the weaknesses in their defence. We want to stay in the position we are in [fifth] or move higher on the table."

Amakhosi look destined to finish the campaign with no trophies in the cabinet, but coach Steve Komphela has not quite given up on the league title just yet even though Sundowns are cruising at the summit.

"It's very difficult to hope that the other team takes care of your results. You have to take care of your own results, but one has to acknowledge that we have been through to two finals and come back with nothing and we missed out on this one [Nedbank Cup]," Komphela said.

"For a team of this calibre it's obviously a failure, and that has to be looked into. We need to think differently if we want to achieve things. The focus moves into the Absa Premiership and we need to see how far we can go. But that is going to depend on Sundowns dropping points."

Amakhosi will have defender Lorenzo Gordinho back after he missed the Nedbank Cup defeat to Orlando Pirates at the weekend because of suspension.
