Baxter amicably terminated his contract: Motaung

Kaizer Chiefs chairman Kaizer Motaung confirmed that club head coach Stuart Baxter had amicably terminated his contract.

“It's not a parting of acrimony; we agreed it's time for change and time to move on,” says Motaung.

Motaung has also complimented the squad for a fabulous season in which many records were broken, including points booked (69) since the PSL moved to 16 clubs in 2002.

"We proved that success is not about how many big players you sign. It has been a season of greatness, breaking all the records," says Motaung.

Baxter said that they agreed him leaving was the best solution for the club.

"We've agreed this is best solution, no finger-pointing from me. I don't want to spoil a beautiful 3-year journey," he said adding that he will not attend to any speculations around his departure.

He said that he is saddened by the timing of his departure because he has not had time to discuss the matter with his players.

Baxter confirms that he has no alternative options lined up after leaving Chiefs. No offer from Turkey as speculated.
