Two of Bafana Bafana's discarded overseas stars were in action for their clubs at the weekend, looking to put behind them the disappointment of missing out on the Africa Cup of Nations.

Ayanda Patosi, who was called into Shakes Mashaba's preliminary squad for the tournament but left out of the final 23, played the full 90 minutes for Belgian side Lokeren as they were held to a 1-1 draw by Genk.

Lokeren had most of the chances but were let down by poor finishing, while Genk held out without their Bafana right-back Anele Ngcongca.

Staying in Belgium, Darren Keet's Kortrijk inflicted a humiliating 7-1 defeat on Andile Jali's KV Oostende, though both players were missing on international duty.

It was a first competitive fixture for former Kaizer Chiefs striker Knowledge Musona, who recently joined Oostende.

Ntuthuko Radebe returned to the bench for Belgian second-tier side Eupen.

The highly-rated defender was missing from the match day squad towards the end of last year but seems to be partially back in favour.

In the Netherlands, Kamohelo Mokotjo, who has not had a look in with Bafana since the early days of the Mashaba reign, played for FC Twente as they lost 3-1 to his former side Feyenoord.

It was a disappointing start to 2015 for the side, who now face a battle to qualify for the European club competitions next season.

Finally in Portugal, Sergio Marakis was again missing for his second-tier side Portimonense as they were beaten 1-0 at Leixoes.
