Alleged Soweto nappy thief kills accomplice

A man has been arrested for allegedly killing his friend after they sold stolen nappies in Zola, Soweto, on Monday, Gauteng police said.

The 24-year-old allegedly stabbed his 30-year-old friend during an argument over money they made from selling the nappies, Warrant Officer Kay Makhubela said.

"They allegedly stole Pampers from a truck and were selling it to the community. After they sold some of them, they were supposed to share the money that they made."

An argument ensued when the 30-year-old confronted his friend about his share of the profits. The younger man took out a knife and allegedly stabbed the other man. He died at the scene.

The 24-year-old would appear in the Protea Magistrate's Court soon on charges of murder and possession of stolen property.
