Podolski could leave Arsenal for inter

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says striker Lukas Podolski could leave the club for Inter Milan in the transfer window this month.

Speaking after his side lost 2-0 at Southampton on Thursday in the English Premier League, Wenger said Inter had a "farcical" opening offer for Podolski rejected, but "after, they came back a bit more serious."

The 29-year-old Podolski, a World Cup winner with Germany in Brazil, last played for Arsenal in its 4-1 win over Newcastle on Dec. 13.

He was not in the squad against Southampton because of a tight groin, with fellow strikers Danny Welbeck and Yaya Sanogo also absent through injury.

Wenger says Podolski "would have had a big chance to start" had he been fit.
