Buljic adds to brains trust at Leopards

RELEGATED Black Leopards have wasted no time in bolstering their technical staff by adding another Serbian.

Nilos Buljic has been brought into the enclosure as an assistant to compatriot Kostadin "Bill Clinton" Papic.

Like Papic, Buljic is familiar with African soccer and club boss David Thidiela sees them and returnee Joel Masutha as the right people to take Lidoda Duvha back to the Absa Premiership at the end of next season.

Masutha is back after a stint with Dynamos who have since been relegated to the Safa Second Division League after finishing bottom of the National First Division.

"I have made it clear I want to see Leopards back in the Premier Soccer League after 12 months and hence this ambitious recruitment in the technical department," Thidiela told Sowetan yesterday.

"The two assistant coaches were appointed in consultation with coach Kostadin and I believe they will work wonders to return the club to the Premiership. Nilos used to work with Kostadin in the past. In fact, he [Papic] is the one who approached him to come and join him here. He will also double up as a physical trainer because I'm told he is a qualified expert in that field.

"We mean business and that is why we are going all out to bring the best brains to take us back to the PSL."

He said the players were back at training where they will be assessed by the technical staff before Leopards venture into the transfer market.
