DISGRUNTLED Kaizer Chiefs winger Abia "NyakaNyaka" Nale could return to Orlando Pirates, the club that helped shape his development, in the current transfer window.

Platinum Stars have also joined the race to sign Nale, who wants out of Kaizer Chiefs due to a lack of game time.

Nale's uncle Steve Nale, who is representing the player, has already discussed a possible transfer to another club with Chiefs general manager Bobby Motaung.

Nale senior referred all inquiries to Motaung, who could not be reached for comment.

It is a known fact that Stars want to sign Nale in a swap deal that could see Thuso Phala going in the opposite direction.

Phala, whose contract with Dikwena expires in June, has been in great form this season and helped his club win the Absa Premiership's quarterly prize for the best performing side.

A former Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns player, Phala was also in a class of his own in Bafana Bafana's 1-0 defeat to Norway in Cape Town on Tuesday night.

Nale is unhappy that he is not playing regularly, which was also the case last season when Serbian Vladimir Vermezovich was head coach at Chiefs.

"Abia wants to go to a club where he will get game time; it looks like Platinum Stars will be his destination," said a source close to the player. "His former club, Orlando Pirates, are also keen to take him back. I think we will know where he is going in two weeks' time."

The Sebokeng-born Nale started his career at Pirates as a development player.

He was later loaned to the now defunct Polokwane Pillars in the National First Division before relocating to KwaZulu-Natal to join Lamontville Golden Arrows, where he turned professional.

Nale joined Chiefs four seasons ago from Arrows.
