Noni not fazed by McCarter

LAYLA McCarter talked the talk at Monday's press conference in East London and also promised that she would walk the talk when she clashes with Noni "She Bee Stinging" Tenge on Sunday.

McCarter indirectly said Tenge must just forget about winning the World Boxing Association female junior middleweight title, which is going to be at stake when the two women trade leather at the Orient Theatre in East London.

But Tenge, born in Mncotsho village in Berlin, outside East London, is confident that her foe will return to the US empty-handed.

"I will show her something on Sunday though I have to admit that I know nothing about her," said Tenge.

"I respect her as a former world champion and my opponent as well. I have trained very hard for this fight and I'm confident that I'm going to win despite what she is saying. I want to win this fight and will make sure that there is a lot of vibe inside the ring."

McCarter, who landed in East London on Sunday, said: "I'm looking forward to performing here next Sunday. Fighting a boxer at her home town makes me work harder.

"I know that I'm a good boxer and can punch as well. My skill and experience will overcome Noni. I turned pro in 1998 and Noni only became a professional boxer in 2007. I'm more experienced than her having fought 52 times and have not lost since 2007."
