FORMER Bafana Bafana coach Pitso Mosimane says he is humbled to have his name linked to Mamelodi Sundowns and Orlando Pirates, the current struggling clubs.

Speaking on the sidelines of the Carling Black Label development coaching workshop in Soweto yesterday, Mosimane said he was not in a hurry to go back to the PSL as a coach.

After losing 2-1 to Maritzburg United in Atteridgeville on Sunday, angry supporters of Sundowns made it loud and clear that they want Mosimane to take over the coaching reins.

They were chanting "We want Pitso", with some of them arguing that Mosimane is familiar with the set-up at Sundowns, the club he played for before going to further his soccer career in Europe. The fans are fed up with Dutchman Johan Neeskens after suffering two successive league defeats and also being eliminated from the MTN8 by Moroka Swallows.

"I was not at Sundowns' game, I only heard from one of the journalists (yesterday) that Sundowns supporters were chanting my name," Mosimane said. "I know there is also a rumour about Pirates. I will be honest with you, I'm humbled to have my name linked to two giants of soccer in Sundowns and Pirates, but I know nothing.

"I have not spoken to any PSL clubs. It feels good to be recognised and that there are people out there who believe that I can add value.

"I have been focusing on the SAB Regional League coaches' workshop. The workshop is for coaches from all nine provinces who gained promotion to the Second Division League.

"It is a project that I do jointly with the University of Johannesburg."

Mosimane last coached in the PSL in 2006, when he did well with SuperSport United. He left Matsatsantsa to become one of the Bafana assistant coaches. He was appointed head coach after the departure of Carlos Alberto Parreira after the 2010 World Cup.
