ISRAELI side Maccabi Haifa have confirmed that Bafana Bafana left-back Tsepo Masilela will not rejoin the club for next season.

Haifa CEO Itamar Chizik told Sowetan the club had no intention of bringing the player back into their first-team plans in the 2012-13 campaign.

Masilela has been on loan at Spanish La Liga side Getafe over the past season, but still has a year remaining on his contract in Israel.

New manager Reuven Atar does not see the player as part of his plans and Masilela himself is eager to continue his career in Europe.

"Masilela will play in Europe next season for sure, not in Israel," Chizik said. "At this stage we cannot say whether it will be another loan or a sale of the player outright, it is too early to tell."

Masilela will have to get over his latest injury setback before he can start looking for a new club.

The player will have surgery on a troublesome knee that saw him limp out of Bafana Bafana's 1-1 draw with Ethiopia on Sunday.

It is another frustrating spell on the sidelines for a player who won rave reviews for his performances with Getafe in La Liga.
