Britney Spears has taken up golf.

The 'Toxic' singer - who recently signed up to become a judge on the US 'X Factor' - took the advice of her fiancé Jason Trawick who suggested she play the sport to help her relax.

However, fellow golfers have been struggling to deal with Britney's inability to play the game as she regularly lets go of her club and cannot hit the ball.

A source told The Sun newspaper: "It's heads-up when she's around.

"She's hit a few golfers and managed to land balls in golf carts. But she's a good sport and laughs at herself."

Britney is not the only star who has taken to the game recently - 'Salmon Fishing in the Yemen' actress Emily Blunt also admitted she was obsessed with the sport, even purchasing special outfits to wear on the golf course.

She said: "I've just started to play golf. I really like being outdoors and there's something cool about whizzing around on a golf cart with ice-cold beers.

"I even have a golf outfit, which I like to wear."

Britney's ex-boyfriend Justin Timberlake is also a fan of the game, even admitting he would rather be a scratch golfer than a pop star, but admitted his performance suffers when he has a lot of other work to do.

He previously said: "My game is pretty terrible. You know, it's that old thing. When the work is good, the game suffers. But you work so you can play".
