Marksmen falling short

CAPE Town-based National First Division players Keenan Leech of Vasco da Gama and Josef Lekata of FC Cape Town are joint leading scorers after they each found the back of the net six times.

The duo failed to match the nine goals that were scored by former Carara Kicks forward Atusayo Nyondo by this stage last season.

Nyondo finished the season with 19 goals, a feat that is unlikely to be achieved by the strikers this season.

A total of nine players have each scored five goals and they are Vasco's Brent Adonis, Jimmy Zakazaka (African Warriors), Andile Mbenyane (Chippa United), Manqoba Ngwenya (Thanda Royal Zulu), Thokozani Sekotlong (University of Pretoria), Tandolwethu Prince (Blackburn Rovers) and April Mvula (Carara Kicks).
