PIMVILLE Westham were on Saturday crowned champions of Soweto Football Association's Putco Under-15 Soccer Challenge.

Westham defeated Diepkloof Barsenal FC 3-1 at the Nike Football Training Centre in Pimville to walk away with the gold medal.

Westham dominated the match and saw goals from Mpho Khumalo, Sango Chezraya and Wandisile Mthi helping them win the final. The deadly Khumalo finished top goal-scorer of the tournament on four goals. Mphuthi Makanda pulled one back for Barsenal.

SFA's general secretary Peter Thuntsane has congratulated the participating clubs for contributing to the success of the tournament.

"Everything went very well. For a change, we did not even have stories of age-cheating. It shows we are winning the war, there is no room for cheats in our sport.

"We will continue to put stringent measurers in place in all our junior competitions," Thuntsane said.

SFA chairman Phil Mogodi said: "We appreciate the support we are getting from Putco, they are helping us a great deal to develop the sport in Soweto. Thulani Serero, who is now based in Holland, has also graduated from our development competitions."
