Amakhosi snatch Macufe Cup

KAIZER Chiefs lifted this year's Mangaung African Cultural Festival trophy after narrowly beating Bloemfontein Celtic 2-1 at the Free State Stadium in Bloemfontein yesterday.

Amakhosi sealed it in the first half with goals from Sthembiso Ngcobo and George Lebese. The goals came within the first half hour after Chiefs caught Phunya Selesele's defence off-guard.

Former Pirates striker Enzenwa Otorogu came off the bench to reduce the deficit in the 88th minute. The big striker headed past Chiefs keeper Arthur Bartman after connecting a super corner from Danny Venter.

The defenders of both sides were alert, keeping the strikers at bay and forcing them to fire from long range.
