Amakhosi marketers hit the road

KAIZER Chiefs' marketing team is hitting the road on a meet-and-greet mission with their supporters in a bid to build a platform that will ensure the team once again draws capacity crowds at home.

"We are starting the road show in Soweto tomorrow at Morris Isaacson High School," said Amakhosi's assistant marketing manager Thato Matuka. Chiefs' representatives will be joined by a team from sponsors Vodacom.

"Morris Isaacson is one of the schools where the 1976 student uprisings started. It has a rich history in the liberation of South Africa," Matuka said.

"As management we have decided to go out and meet our supporters as part of the Heritage Month celebrations.

"The roots of Kaizer Chiefs are in Soweto, which is where the club was formed. That is why we decided to start the campaign in Soweto.

"On Wednesday, we will be going to Phefeni High School, which has produced various political, business leaders as well as other role models.'

Matuka said a public viewing area will enable supporters to watch Wednesday night's Premiership game against Ajax Cape Town.
