KZN schools in U-14 Cup battle

A TOTAL of 12 schools will battle it out in the KwaZulu-Natal provincial finals of the McDonald's Under-14 Soccer Cup on Saturday.

South African Schools Football Association project manager Themba Tshabalala said the games will be played at Stanger High School, north of Durban, from 9am to 3pm.

He identified the schools as Ohlongeni, Inkonkoni, Gwejobomvu, Empathe, Zamangothando, Chelmsford, Skhethuxolo, Izimeshe, Tailors, Mzwendaba, Shakaskraal and Amahlubi.

"KwaZulu-Natal is the third province to play its finals after Limpopo and Eastern Cape, who have already decided their winners," he said. "The overall winner on Saturday will represent KwaZulu-Natal at the national championships at Matlosana Stadium in North West on October 1 and 2."
