Young Bucs through to last eight

ORLANDO Pirates are the first African side to reach the Nike Manchester United Under-15 Premier United Cup quarterfinal in England.

Pirates achieved the feat after beating Spanish giants Valencia 2-1 in a Group A match at the Old Trafford Sport Grounds yesterday. Nana Ntuli and Thokozani Skhosana scored for Pirates.

The South Africans then beat China's Hubei last night 2-0. Pirates, who pledged to deliver on their promise to chairperson Irvin Khoza to return home with a medal, are still unbeaten after accumulating 10 points in their opening four matches of this prestigious global tournament featuring 20 teams from across the world. Bucs started the tournament with a goalless draw against Catania Calcio of Italy and beat Universidad de Chile of Chile 1-0 on Wednesday.
