Unlucky break for Habana

SPRINGBOK wing Bryan Habana has broken his hand in training and is on his way back home, it was announced yesterday in yet another setback for the team just days before the Test against Scotland.

Habana fractured a bone in his left hand during yesterday's morning practice.

This means his place in the team will be filled by Lwazi Mvovo, who critics believe should have been the first- choice wing for Saturday's Test against Scotland in Edinburgh.

Habana sustained the injury during a defensive drill when he fell awkwardly on his hand after tackling Morne Steyn, the SA Rugby Union said.

The experienced Adrian Jacobs will come in on the bench as backline cover in Mvovo's place.

An announcement on the calling up of a replacement was expected late yesterday.

Habana's injury reduces the tour squad to 27 players.

Bjorn Basson and Chiliboy Ralepelle - both suspended because of doping charges - have already returned home.

Revised Team: Zane Kirchner, Gio Aplon, Francois Steyn, Jean de Villiers, Lwazi Mvovo, Morne Steyn, Francois Hougaard, Ryan Kankowski, Juan Smith, Deon Stegmann, Victor Matfield (captain), Bakkies Botha, Jannie du Plessis, Bismark du Plessis, Tendai Mtawarira. Replacements: Adriaan Strauss, CJ van der Linde, Flip van der Merwe, Willem Alberts, Ruan Pienaar, Adrian Jacobs, Patrick Lambie.
