Cops bust four for stealing from hospital

Four suspects are expected to appear in the Pietermaritzburg Magistrate’s Court tomorrow (30 October 2015) after being arrested over the theft of boxes of nebulisers‚ theatre attire and plasters from the Edenvale hospital.

The arrests came after a search was conducted at a house in Machibisa‚ near Pietermaritzburg. The stolen goods are worth R20‚000.

The 64-year-old homeowner was arrested along with a 44-year-old suspect who had allegedly delivered the stolen goods to the house. Two more suspects‚ aged 25 and 52‚ were arrested after the police investigation linked them to the alleged theft of hospital property.

The KwaZulu-Natal Provincial Commissioner‚ Lieutenant General Mmamonnye Ngobeni said in a statement: “We will make sure that a well presented docket is handed to the Magistrate’s Court as stealing government property is unacceptable as this hinders essential services‚ that should be extended to our communities“.
