Oscar Pistorius 'diva demands' revealed

The fallen paralympian Oscar Pistorius has allegedly been making 'diva' demands at the Kgosi Mampuru prison in Pretoria.

Pistorius was sentenced to a five year jail term by Judge Thokozile Masipa for shooting his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp at their home in February 2013.

A list of Pistorius's 'outrageous' demands has been released.

One of the demands which has been granted includes him cooking his own food in his cell.

It is alleged that Pistorius demanded that he cook in his cell because he fears being poisoned.

The list of demands comes as the Department of Justice rescinded their decision to release Pistorius on parole.

- has a special bath installed in his cell,

- received a new bed after complaining the old one was not comfortable,

- demanded new equipment be installed at the prison gym,

- he was also placed at the hospital wing of the Kgosi Mampuru prison because of his disability and fame,

The details were revealed, according to DailyMail, by the South Africa's Judicial inspectorate.

Justice Minister Michael Masutha has referred the matter to release Pistorius on parole back to the parole board as he believes the decision was made 'prematurely'.

Masutha’s spokesperson Mthunzi Mhaga on Wednesday said Pistorius had not served 10 months of his five-year jail term when the Correctional Supervision and Parole Review Board (CSPB) made the decision on June 5.

He said it was therefore “clear that there is no legal basis upon which such a decision was made and is in contravention of Section 73 (7) (a) which requires him to have served one sixth of his five years sentence“.

“One sixth of a five years sentence is 10 months and at the time the decision was made Mr Pistorius had served only over six months of his sentence.”
