Khoza will focus on Bucs soon

ORLANDO Pirates chairperson Irvin Khoza has pledged to spend more time attending to club matters after the 2010 World Cup.

ORLANDO Pirates chairperson Irvin Khoza has pledged to spend more time attending to club matters after the 2010 World Cup.

Speaking at the club's 2009-10 season awards on Wednesday night, Khoza said their performance had been undeniably disappointing.

"The spiritual owners, the supporters are disappointed. We expect to win the league every season," Khoza said.

"We understand success can never be guaranteed, but a club as big as Pirates must succeed in the league and cup competitions. I will be finishing my national duty on July 11 and I will concentrate fully on matters at Pirates."

On transfers at Parktown, the Bucs supremo said they will keep those who add value to the club. But Khoza, who is chairperson of the 2010 World Cup Local Organising Committee, said Bucs would shop for new players to beef up the squad.

Speaking at the same function, SuperSport International CEO Imtiaz Patel said it was not good for Pirates not to win the league.

"When you guys win, we progress. Please win the bloody league title," said Patel, who also showered Khoza with praise for the success of the 2010 World Cup preparations.
