SPRINGBOK lock Victor Matfield is back with the Blue Bulls and will play tomorrow when the Pretorians take on the Cheetahs in an Absa Currie Cup match at Loftus.

Kickoff is at 5.10pm.

Also back in the Bulls starting XV announced on Wednesday by coach Frans Ludeke are flyhalf Morne Steyn, eighth man Pierre Spies and utility forward Danie Rossouw.

The quartet are expected to add value to the Pretoria side after doing a wonderful job for the Springboks, who won the Tri-Nations this month.

Matfield will play alongside Rossouw in the second row with Dewald Potgieter, Spies and Deon Stegmann making up a formidable combination.

Steyn, who had an incredible stint with the Boks, takes over the number 10 jersey from Burton Francis while Wynand Olivier, who has recovered from an ankle injury, will partner Jaco Pretorius in the midfield.

Matfield feels the Bulls are still on track for the semifinals but he warned: "The players all know they need to be at their utmost best if they hope to upset the Cheetahs at home."

The Bulls are fourth on the log with 32 points from 11 games, three points ahead of the Cheetahs.

Also tomorrow, the Lions host Boland at Ellis Park Stadium at 3pm and Western Province engage Griquas at Newlands, also at 3pm. Today at 7.10pm, the Sharks should consolidate their lead over the struggling Leopards in Durban.
