Cultural fest to rock Secunda

The sixth Secunda Jazz and Cultural Festival is once again headlined by a sizzling line-up of heavyweight talent.

Bhudaza, Freshlyground, Siphokazi, Peter Nthwane, Ntando and Khanyo Maphumulo are all set to take to the stage at Secunda Stadium on Sunday as part of this yearly event.

Now in its sixth year, Sejacufe turns the spotlight on the Mpumalanga town with a range of cultural activities as well as a jazz festival.

Mangaliso Mashiane of the Govan Mbeki municipality, said Sejacufe has been a festival of real substance that showcases the area's capabilities and talents.

"The festival's goal is to develop local talent, alleviate poverty, create jobs, attract tourists to this major petrochemical town, as well as connecting national artists with our local developing artists to ensure growth in music and jazz as a genre in particular," said Mashiane.

Local bands such as Bongane Mtshali, PMJ, Beracca, Mpucuko Mthombeni, Masindi Mkhize, Igagasi and Black Mok will join the nationally and internationally recognised artists on the Sejacufe stage, providing them with an audience and an opportunity to perform at a professional level.

The list of artists at this year's event is sufficient to draw music fans from throughout South Africa to Sejacufe.
