A man accused of burning his ex-girlfriend with acid appeared in the Tembisa magistrate's court yesterday.

A man accused of burning his ex-girlfriend with acid appeared in the Tembisa magistrate's court yesterday.

Samson Matsha of Ivory Park allegedly threw acid over Rachel Morapedi because she had refused to take him back.

The mother of two had just got off a staff taxi from work when she found Matsha waiting for her at her shack.

He brazenly walked to her and threw acid over her. Morapedi is recovering in the Tembisa Hospital from burns covering more than 66 percent of her body.

Matsha also has burn wounds on his arms. He was not asked to plead and the case was postponed to January 22 for bail application. - Pertunia Ratsatsi
