Buoyed by a recent breakthrough Free State police have urged all victims of ATM robberies to come forward with information to help in combating the crime.

The Bethlehem police made the appeal after they arrested two people linked to ATM robberies in the area on Saturday.

Police spokesman Sergeant Mmako Mophiring said the two Gauteng men, aged 44 and 51 years old, were arrested after they allegedly robbed a woman of R4000 in cash.

"After withdrawing her money the two men forced her into their vehicle and drove off. They dropped her off at Paul Roux outside Bethlehem and fled," said Mophiring.

He said the suspects were later spotted by a member of the community.

"When they saw our members approaching their vehicle, the pair sped off and a car chase ensued.

"They were cornered and arrested along the N5 freeway in Senekal, Free State."

Mophiring said the car had false Mpumalanga registration plates.

The two men are expected to appear in the Bethlehem magistrate's court today.
