SANUR, Indonesia - The Olympics might not want it, but the 2010 Asian Games is ready to embrace Twenty20 cricket as one of five new sports making their debut in the Chinese city of Guangzhou.

International Olympic Committee chief Jacques Rogge last week rejected growing demands from the cricket community to include the popular game at the 2016 Summer Games.

But China, where the sport has no history, believes it will add a new dimension to the already massively popular Asian Games and help China understand a discipline that is huge in South Asia. - Sapa-AFP
