Music lovers who frequent the Ekurhuleni Comes Alive Jazz Evening at the Birchwood Hotel in Boksburg are in for a good time on Friday from 7.30pm.

Tsepo Tshola, who has been quiet for a while, will emerge from hibernation at the monthly jazz evening.

Tshola is one of the most exciting musicians this country has the fortune of being associated with. Blessed with a powerful, gravelly voice that effortlessly moves through various ranges, he sings from the heart, taking his audiences on the musical trips he embarks on.

Not a stranger to South African audiences, he was part of Sankomota, one of the best groups to come out of Lesotho. Together with founder and leader of the outfit Frank Leepa, they produced captivating, smooth sounds that fired up local audiences.

Tshola is joined by a newcomer who seems destined for greatness. Until you listen to the discerning sounds of Malatjie, you won't know what keeps record company executives and promoters motivated.

A fine guitarist, Malatjie has delivered a potential monster hit album. He sings from the heart and soul. He is a sensitive musician, whose fine artistry takes you along the lush green valleys of Limpopo.

Pride in his heritage makes every song come alive.

How can he not be a winner with a brilliant producer such as Selaelo Selota?

A guitarist himself, Selota knows how to unearth and deliver a stunning artist. Time and again he has produced a star.

For an evening guaranteed to chase the winter blues away, with a complimentary bottle of Oude Meester, wine and a sumptuous dinner against the backdrop of great music, make a date with the Birchwood Hotel.
