It now looks like the only team that will stop Free State Stars from gaining outright promotion to the Castle Premiership at the end of the season will be Ea lla koto themselves.

The Free Staters continued with their excellent run and bolstered their title hopes with a 4-0 drubbing of Bay United in the Mvela Golden League (MGL) match at Goble Park Stadium in Bethlehem on Saturday.

They are now 11 points clear of second-placed Pretoria University, who were trounced 2-0 by Jacob "Cellular" Sakala's City Pillars in Tshwane. Pretenders FC AK trail Stars by 12 points after Bahumi were pipped 2-1 by Steve "Disco" Makua's Witbank Spurs in Eldorado Park in a match played on Saturday.

Bahumi have sought help from former Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns' assistant coach Farouk Khan to reinforce their technical staff.

Nathi Lions beatPJ Stars 2-1 at Sugar Ray Xulu Stadium on Saturday and Winnerspark blasted Durban Stars 4-0 in Seshego.

PJ Stars were deducted 15 points by the PSL's DC last Monday after they were found guilty of fielding four improperly registered players last year.
