Find out why women take longer to reach orgasm at the sexuality Conference

The response has been positive ahead of the first ever sexuality conference in South Africa.

Conscious Sexuality Conference is said to take place between 9 and 17 May across the country where experts will educate people about sexual matters with the aim of addressing issues such as HIV, sexual violence, rape among others.

According to the organisers, a lot of people have expressed interest in the conference since the launch of their social media campaign.

“Facebook and Twitter has had many comments from people expressing their excitement at the prospect of attending an event of this nature locally.

“We have every confidence that South Africans will embrace this opportunity for personal and community healing,” said Nash Singh from Conscious Events SA.

Both local and international experts will share their knowledge and writings around the bedroom affairs.

One of the panellists, Dr Christopher Ryan, author of "SEX AT DAWN: How We mate, Why We Stray, and What it Means for Modern Relationships", said that he will also be sharing his insights on why women take longer to reach orgasm.

“The fact that women generally are slower to become aroused than men, and that men often reach orgasm too quickly are both congruent with the vision of human sexual evolution proposed in Sex at Dawn.

“This model basically argues that our ancestors typically had multiple ongoing sexual relationships,” he said.

Dr Ryan will also be indulging into his view that “there is no normal” when it comes to sex because in other countries, same-sex interaction are totally forbidden but are not in others.

“In some places, inter-generational sex is considered an important part of education, while in others, it leads to prison.

“What one considers to be “normal” depends very much on cultural indoctrination,” he added.

The other panellists will include Margot Anand (France) - Leading Author of the international bestselling "Sexual Ecstasy".

Sasha Cobra (USA) - International healer, facilitator and speaker on sexuality, spirituality and relating.

James W Jesso (Canada) - Author and world class speaker on conscious relationships.

Rahasya (South Africa) - Founder of the Advait Tantra School and foremost authority on Tantra in South Africa
