The saying ‘don’t count your chickens before they hatch, should also apply to Valentines Day.

When you know your partner is unromantic type who never spoils you, don’t tempt your emotions with high hopes of roses, candelight dinner and endless gifts.

The truth is not everyone is passionate about this day of love. Some people are just not into it period.

Your partner may not be the type to express love in the most romantic way and that does not make them a loser nor does it mean that they don’t love you.

However instead of waiting to be surprised, create your own fairytale day with a gushy romantic gesture.

Here are some examples of what you can do to make Valentine’s Day meaningful for yourself:

Love yourself first: Its time you learn to love youself fully and entirely. If you feel you deserve a day where you showed expressive love, then you will need to start loving yourself the way you would want someone else to.

Spoil yourself: Buy yourself that bouquet of flowers. Go to that fancy restaurant and wine and dine and even get that expensive perfume you have been wanting.

Recharge your batteries: Go out of town for a change. Valentine’s Day falls on a weekend this year, a weekend away would do you some good.

Let someone spoil you: Simple, hire someone to spoil you, meaning you take yourself to a spa for a full body massage, a manicure or a pedicure.

Sometimes in life we have to take matters into our hands.
