Life according to me

You don’t really know who you might help. Let’s turn our Facebook walls, Twitter pages ect. from the stereotypical tools we have succumbed to, to positive life experiences, to teach one another of our falls, and how we pick ourselves up.

Looking at the word life, its composed of four letters, L – Lesson, I – Information, F – Failure, E- Expectancy.

In life we are always going to learn something. Some learn the hard way, some end up losing everything they worked for to acquire their lessons. There’s a Zulu saying that goes “Ukungazi Kufana Nokungaboni” that simply means, not knowing is equivalent to not seeing, thats where the I (information) comes into play.

There’s no one that can claim they understand life fully, but we all are in possession of the puzzles that can build the bigger picture. The only problem is, we find it hard to work together to build the puzzle, because everyone wants to keep the little knowledge they have to themselves, others even die without contributing with their puzzles.

But in the end, it all boils down to all of us sitting down, looking at our failures and discovering how we have turned them into the success that we have, then sharing with everyone that haven’t crossed that bridge yet, because in the end, we are all going to go through the same challenges, and being informed of those beforehand, will go a long way.

Take for an example a high school student who is currently doing his or her matric, is clueless on what is in store for him/her once they get to tertiary. There’s challenges such as alcohol, drugs, parties, women/men, that will be challenging them not to focus on their studies. We need people who have passed that stage, and who have gone through all these challenges to better equip these young men and women on what to look forward to, and what to avoid in order to go pass that hurdle called Tertiary.

This goes the same for people who have just started working. They need advice on how important it is to start saving as soon as they get that first paycheck, in order for them to start investing in their future as soon as possible.

Everyone expects something from life, and we all have one common expectancy, and that is, we want our lives to turn out positive. We want that big mansion, that fleshy car, that dream job, that perfect family, but things do not always turn out the way we want to, because the people who have successfully put those puzzle pieces together never share, and if they do, we never read (Lack of Information).

We have turned into this society that is media driven, yet we forget that we have our own lives to live, and no one will live them for us. We get so caught up in to our daily routine such that we forget to make those big decisions that will affect our live positively in a long run.

I could go on, but the main point I want to address is, take note of all your challenges and how you overcome them, then share it with the world. You don’t really know who you might help. Let’s turn our Facebook walls, Twitter pages ect. from the stereotypical tools we have succumbed to, to positive life experiences, to teach one another of our falls, and how we pick ourselves up.
