Cosatu's general secretary Zwelinzima Vavi is overjoyed with his twins, who were born to his wife Noluthando on 28 January.
"Lucky me," he tweeted, in announcing the news.
Late last year, Noluthando told Sowetan that: "God has blessed our family in more ways than one and all we can do is to be grateful".
The couple have named their babies Andisiwe Emihle and Lubabalo Unako Vavi.
